Our Democracy is Worth Fighting For
Date & Time

Senator Alex Padilla Gillian Weatherford Jocelyn Benson
Description

Voting is the foundation of our democracy and core to the public's ability to hold elected officials accountable. Over the last 50 years, LCV has become a potent political force working to protect clean air and water, public lands, and a safe climate. Today, these human fights are at risk because our democracy is under attack. To continue to build power for people and our planet, we must ensure a just and equitable democracy by expanding ballot access and voting rights for all, making certain that our democracy is representative of and responsive to all communities, especially voters of color and young voters who are vulnerable to voter suppression. Join U.S. Senator Alex Padilla (CA), Michigan Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson, and former US Representative (MD-04) & LCV Board Member Donna Edwards for a conversation about the wave of attempts to silence the voices of most marginalized communities across the country. Stopping voter suppression is critical to achieving long term policy progress on the issues we all care about most.
